Shoreline Reading Orton-Gillingham Training

Empowering Educators through Multisensory Structured Literacy

At Shoreline Reading, we are dedicated to equipping educators with the tools and knowledge to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. Our training programs are taught by certified Orton-Gillingham Fellows and align with the standards set by the Orton-Gillingham Academy(OGA) and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).

Level 1 Classroom Educator

Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Level

The Classroom Educator course is intended for teachers and educators who work in the whole-classroom or small-group setting. This course is also open to parents, specialists, administrators and advocates who would like to learn more about dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham and structured literacy best practices. Participants learn evidence-based strategies to support all learners, including those with dyslexia.

Level 2 Associate

Orton-Gillingham Associate Level

The Associate level coursework is intended for educators who work one-on-one with individuals with dyslexia in the Tier 3 or special education setting. It is broken into two required segments. The first course covers dyslexia, the Orton-Gillingham Approach, structured literacy best practices, and the beginning level of the scope and sequence. The second course focuses on the intermediate level of the scope and sequence, as well as standardized testing, defining the SLD/Dyslexia profile, and advanced teaching techniques.

Orton-Gillingham Certification Opportunities:

Our coursework fulfills the requirements for advancement to the Orton-Gillingham practicum (available for an additional fee) for individuals seeking Orton-Gillingham Certification at the Classroom Educator or Associate Levels.
