OG Certification Process

Shoreline Reading offers a clear, supportive pathway to Orton-Gillingham (OG) certification, starting with our comprehensive coursework that builds the teacher trainee’s foundational knowledge. From there, trainees complete a supervised OG Practicum, where they apply what they’ve learned through hands-on instruction with real students, guided by our Accredited Training Fellow (ATF) and FITs. After completing the practicum, the trainee’s application is reviewed by our ATF and submitted to the OG Academy for certification approval.

Upon successful completion of the practicum and application requirements applicants are issued a unique certification number by the Orton-Gillingham Academy, officially recognizing them as Orton-Gillingham Certified at their respective level. This certification also includes a listing in the OGA Membership Directory, allowing individuals to professionally represent their credentialled status.
